The Forbidden City
Built between 1406 and 1420 for the third Ming Emperor Yong Le. For almost 500 years the palace was the home of 24 Ming and Qing Dynasty emperors. One of the largest palaces in the world designed to accommodate up to 9000 people.
 
Tian An Men Square
The largest square in the world covering 44 hectares. The venue was chosen for the founding ceremony of the People's Republic of China in 1949. In 1999, it went through a six month renovation and was reopened for the 50th anniversary.
 
The Temple of Heaven
The Hall of Prayer for Good Harvest. The temple covers an area of 273 hectares and was the place where the Ming and Qing Dynasty emperors offered sacrifices to heaven.
 
The Great Wall of China
Build as a defense project between 471 BC and 16th century AD, the Great Wall has become one of the world’s most famous tourists spots in modern days. The 4 most common sections to be visited from Beijing are Mutianyu, Badaling, Jinshanling and Simatai.
